March 5, 2015
BSEU students took part in the ceremony of laying wreaths at the memorial stone in the Hugo Chavez Park. The event was timed to coincide with the second anniversary of the date of the Bolivarian Revolutionleader’s passing away.
The representatives of various government agencies, the diplomatic corps accredited in Belarus, enterprises, public organizations and movements took part in the ceremony.
Chavez became a figure of the global importance. The fundamental transformation that took place in all areas of Venezuela with his coming to power, found an immediate response in the countries of the Latin American region, and became a new vision of freedom and justice for the oppressed peoples of the world.
“Today Belarus is not just an ally, but also a friend of Venezuelalargely thanks to Hugo Chavez. The name of Hugo Chavez has become a synonym of Venezuela. Within a short period of time,a great number of bilateral projects wereimplemented due to the strong will of both countries’ leaders- Alexander Lukashenko and Hugo Chavez. The construction of residential areas and agricultural towns, gas infrastructure development, joint ventures for the production of machinery, oil production and the development of phosphorite deposits, technology transfer, and joint research projects– these are only a part of the agreements reached between Venezuela and Belarus. This is the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution’s heritage, and although he is no longer with us, his ideas continue to be put into practice for the benefit of the Venezuelan and Belarusian people.”
